Let's Get Some Shoes

When my brother showed me this video many years ago, he said; "this is so you" and I thought yes it is so me but also almost every girl in the world. Why do we adore shoes so much? It doesn't matter how much they are going to hurt or the horrible blisters we are going to endure for at least a few days or even the impossibly unfair price tag; we just absolutely have to have those 'oh so cute' and perfect pair of shoes that may only go with one color or just for that special one night.

Shoes are like pieces of art work that you can stand on and become part of that art. When you slip your foot into that impeccable shoe like Cinderella did, it somehow feels like that one moment everything has changed and you are a new woman; a woman that can conquer, that can make this a 'woman's world', make you feel unstoppable. Marilyn Monroe was quoted "Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world." I believe only a woman can feel the rush of slipping on her perfect pair of heels, wedges, sneakers, ballet flats, and feel that power under her feet radiate through her body.

Everyday requires different kind of shoes. Guys have their gym shoes; cross trainers, or tennis, or whatever the sport of choice. Then they have their black and dark brown dress shoes that will go with any kind of slacks. Then perhaps they have their casual; flip-flops, boat shoes, and then maybe a pair of boots and that is pushing it. Now I am talking average male; not the metro sexual or the guy that is way into himself and needs one pair of shoes that goes with each colored stitch of clothing her owns or a rainbow collection of Air Force One Nikes.

With women, its different. Our shoes are not all for practical reasons. We already have 16 pairs of black heels but these loop around the side and are not as shiny. You don't want to know how many pairs of white wedges I have that looks so similar but I still look for more white wedges..love the white wedges and every single variation that has been once sketched and ready to design. What is the infatuation with shoes? Why this feeling that we get when we place our toes into a magnificent shoe? Are they magic? I really want to know. 

Guilty pleasure confession; I go on to Pinterest and browse shoes for much longer than I should and I can't even tell you how long because its embarrassing but I'm sure a lot of you ladies are doing the same. Are you? Tell me; I don't want to feel weird. It's like I need a shoe fix..maybe too often..Oh no! Is it getting out of control; I swear I can stop anytime I want to, I just don't want to right now.
